Home found for soup mountain

A HOME has been found for 20 tonnes of soup thanks to an appeal in the Weekly News.

The soup, which was donated to the Cambridge Foodbank, would have been dumped if a storehouse had not been found for it.

The charity, which provides food for people in need, is now looking for other similar agencies to take the soup off their hands.

Gina Phillips, project manager at the Foodbank, said: “We have accepted help from Aquaid, based in Sawston, who are very kindly allowing us to offload the whole delivery at their warehouse.”

Gina added: “Obviously we would rather not have all these pallets in storage for a long time, so I would encourage any caring support agencies not already registered with us to get in touch with me at the warehouse.”
